This is the cover of my well worn and loved copy of raggedy annarchy's -guide to- vegan baking and the universe. From the multitude of my cookbook and zine collection this is my favorite. Hands down, this zine offers the best advice to vegan baking I have ever found.
It is not a guide to healthy eating of any sort. Rather, it is a guide to baking sweet and fattening treats that taste "bad for you" (and probably are) and are made sans lard, eggs, milk and the like. These recipes are easy to make, are made from common ingredients and resemble desserts commonly found in western society. This means you can bring them to potlucks, birthdays, holidays, or whatever festivities you choose to celebrate and people won't go, "Ewww! What is it?" I'ts not that I'm against healthy desserts (or freaking people out for that matter), but there is something very comforting and necessary about eating thick "butter cream" frosting on a cupcake. Ya know, sometimes tofu lemon glaze just doesn't cut it.
This zine offers a lot more recipes and information than I am offering here. So if you want more, get your own copy from Vegan Action. Let it also be known I have no guilt about posting these recipes and bits of information. The author has made it clear that they are to be copied freely and circulated to the masses. I hope you enjoy them as much I do.
