Stir together and set aside:

1 cup TVP granules

7/8 cup hot water

1 tablespoon tamari (or soysauce)
Toast in a heavy-bottomed pan for a few minutes, until you can smell the aroma, stirring frequently so as not to scorch:
Stir into flour and continue cooking a few minutes:

1/4 cup vegetable oil or soy margarine.
Slowly stir in, whisking to avoid lumps:

4 cups warm vegetable stock (vegetable bouillon works well)

2 teaspoons powdered sage

1 teaspoon marjoram

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper
Simmer gravy. When it bubbles, stir in the TVP. Serve over
biscuits.
