PLV: Run us through your ultimate morning, what is your favourite way to start the day and why?

PLV: What does sustainability mean to you, and how do you practice it?

CHG:  My boyfriend and I make a real effort at recycling correctly. We make sure to cut down on plastic by bringing our own shopping bags when we get groceries and each week, we shop at our local farmers market to support small growers. It’s hard, but if we all do a little bit, it all adds up in the end.

PLV: How do you find a healthy balance between social media and personal life?

CHG: I’d be lying if I said it’s easy. Before I had a boyfriend, I definitely didn’t have much of a balance – I was go-go-go 24/7. But, having to consider another human being, someone you love and care for, has allowed me to further realise what’s really important in life, and I think that is what really brings me balance… I know, that what I do may not be forever, but the ones I love will be – and it’s important to remember, acknowledge and appreciate that.

PLV: What is your go-to meal to throw together when you’re pressed for time?

CHG: A salad of some pre-cooked quinoa or wild rice with broccoli, zucchini, cucumber, cos lettuce, goats cheese, hemp seeds & oil and tuna – quick, easy and super nutritious.

PLV: Nowadays, there are so many different diet crazes out there that it can be overwhelming to decide on what food is best for you. What is your personal ethics on diet?

CHG: I know, it’s hard. I suffered from different eating disorders for many years, so I know how overwhelming and conflicting all of those opinions and diets can be… My ethics on my own diet these days is simple: Listen To Your Body. Whenever I’m mindfully listening to my body, how it feels and what it needs, that is when it’s operating at its best and feeling its best.

PLV: We can see your all about yoga and meditation, how have these practices influenced your life and how do you incorporate them into your daily routines?

CHG: They are both practices that came into my life unexpectedly, but when I needed them the most. Both of which have changed my life in different ways, both of equal importance. Incorporating my practice of meditation everyday, has become the same thing as brushing my teeth – it’s so engraved in me and how I start my day, I’d almost feel strange not doing it. Yoga, ebbs and flows in my life – sometimes the practice is very much present in my life and at other times, it’s taking a holiday. But as a minimum, I try to flow at least 1-2 times a week and in July I’ll be doing my Yoga Teacher Training which I’m very excited about!

PLV: When life gets overwhelming, how do you unwind?

CHG: I try to head down for a swim or get out in nature – barefoot – as I know it’ll be healing and calming for me. Or I’ll spend some extra time with my boyfriend – he’s the one that can calm me down and feel relaxed, forgetful even. He makes time stand still and draws me into the now – where all is okay.
